A northwest PA native, Bill Bartlett started community organizing in a different way than most. After graduating the University of Pennsylvania at Edinboro, Bartlett began working in factories and first-hand saw the need for organization around workers rights.
After his work in factories, Bartlett got involved in the local political arena and began organizing youth. In 2012 he moved to Pittsburgh and has been advocating for cleaner environments and stronger communities since then.
“I view community organizing as a means of both personal and communal healing–reconnecting ourselves with the power, and owning the responsibility, to have agency over our environment.”
