Craig Robbins is currently the Executive Director of ACTION United, the states largest community based membership organization and core partner of the Center for Popular Democracy, the country’s largest national community organizing network. He has a BA in government from St. Lawrence University. Craig has one daughter, Zina whose graduating from High school this summer.
Craig has been a community organizer for 30 years. He started his organizing career with ACORN as a field organizer and then Lead organizer in Chicago in 1986-88. Craig was promoted to Head Organizer with ACORN in 1989, starting in Kansas City and St. Louis, and transferring to Pennsylvania in January 2002 to direct PA ACORN. In December of 2003, Craig became the Regional Director of the Northeast Region for ACORN, responsible for supervising 18 Head Organizers in 10 states and Canada. In 2008 he became the national campaign director for ACORN. In April 2010, Craig along with a number of former ACORN leaders formed ACTION United, which has grown to over 54,000 members statewide organized into 10 chapters in Southeast and Western PA.
