The GOP is moving forward with an attempt to repeal Health Care Reform even though it will increase the deficit, and return thousands and thousands of people to the status of un-insured. The uninsured drive up health care costs for everyone, and this repeal serves no purpose except to be a battle against the current president. Americans deserve more than a GOP pissing match to see who is the toughest, especially when it is at our expense!

ACTION United will hold a meeting with parents and concerned community members tonight in the wake of the release of their report Inequitable Distribution in Philadelphia Schools. Attendees will hear about the findings of the report and discuss ways to address the problem. “We are not interested in just throwing stones at this problem; we want to help the district find real solutions for our kids. We have ideas but we also want to hear from parents” said William Browning of ACTION United.

About a dozen members of a citizen activist group protested today in front of the School District of Philadelphia offices, saying the distribution of the most experienced teachers is not fair and equitable, and neither is the education of children across the school district.
